Brief Candle has produced a number of participatory projects with young people from the surrounding area.

Blood and Stone Storyrider

Blood and Stone involved almost 100 young people from three different Derbyshire Secondary schools, in the research, writing and production of a new play performed at Hardwick Hall.

Storyrider gave twelve students from Newbold Community School the opportunity to work alongside professional actors and director, and perform at the Pomegranate Theatre, Chesterfield to sell out audiences of Primary School audiences.

Our new Young Writers’ Workshop will extend the opportunity to work with Paul Whitfield and Brief Candle Theatre to young writers form across the region.

Planning on an exciting new Work Experience project is currently underway, which could see small groups of up to 20 Key Stage 4 students spending two weeks on work experience with Brief Candle Theatre, working as a professional theatre company with dedicated mentoring and support from Brief Candle staff.

This is a very exciting project which is in the early planning stages. Watch the blog for updates on how it is progressing.
