Brief Candle Theatre devises and delivers drama-based workshops for students of all ages. Our workshops: - Support student learning at all Key Stages - Provide INSET & CPD for professionals in the education, health & welfare sectors - Facilitate change in attitudes and behaviour.

Brief Candle Theatre design & deliver original projects using a range of methods, including improvisation,devising, film and music. Examples include: 2-WEEK WORK EXPERIENCE PROJECT - An innovative project for 20 Y10 Drama students, providing the opportunity to work alongside experienced Brief Candle Theatre company members to create an original drama. Y10 students from Hope Valley College devised and performed an original drama addressing homophobia, sexuality and attitudes towards difference for audiences of KS3 students.

I can definitely say it has changed my life, on top of improving my acting skills, and bringing me closer to everyone in the group. Those two weeks were the best of my life. It was a pleasure to walk in there everyday and be met with a new inspiring challenge. It was fun and exciting and everything I hope my future work will be like." Y10 student BLOOD AND STONE involved almost 100 young people from three different Derbyshire Secondary schools, in the research, writing and production of a new play performed at Hardwick Hall. STORYRIDER gave twelve students from Newbold Community School the opportunity to work alongside professional actors and director, and perform at the Pomegranate Theatre, Chesterfield to sell out audiences of Primary School pupils. |
